Terms & Conditions
Section 1 – Registration and Fees
FAA’s classes run 33 weeks per year. To make payments easier for parents, we operate a subscription payment system spread equally over 12 months. This means fees are payable every month, including when no classes are taking place.
Subscriptions are requested on the 1st of every month. If you begin lessons before the 1st of the next month, you will be charged a pro-rated ‘Covering Payment’ which will be added to your first month’s bill. After that, payments revert to the normal price. You’ll receive an email confirming this.
Refunds cannot be given for missed classes. Where possible, missed classes may be made up by attending another class at the same level. If FAA cancel a class, then we will either offer a make-up class or a refund for that class / lesson.
Section 2 – Class / Subscription Cancellation
A notice period of one full calendar month is required to cancel subscriptions. Notice must be received in writing by the 1st of the previous month to stop payments for the next month. We also kindly ask for notice by the half-term break if stopping at the end of term, so we can adjust timetables.
If you cancel over an end-of-term holiday and later re-join, you’ll move to a higher subscription rate until missed payments are covered, after which your plan will return to the usual rate.
Please make sure you are happy with all details before making payment, as FAA is unable to offer refunds due to fixed costs.
Section 3 – Class / Site Conduct
1.Correct uniform and hair must be adhered to. If you are unsure, please ask Miss Jo. A bun is usually preferred, except for Commercial Dance. For Acro, a very low bun or tight French plaits is best. For ballet, hair must be in a neat classical bun (no doughnuts please) with no bangs.
Students are not allowed to dance in socks, as this invalidates our insurance policy. We sell official Fusion Arts dance socks in our uniform shop for Mids and Seniors (where permitted). All students must wear appropriate footwear, and jazz shoes are mandatory for all jazz classes.
2. Bring a water bottle (no juice or fizzy drinks permitted). All rubbish from lunch boxes / snacks must be taken home as we do not have a commercial waste contract and this ends up in Miss Jos personal bin at home!
3. Show respectful behavior towards teachers, fellow students and everyone on the entire site.
4. Eating or chewing gum is not allowed during class.
5. Jewellery must not be worn; small stud earrings are permitted.
6. False nails, long nails, or acrylic nails are not allowed under any circumstances. Students wearing them will be asked to sit out of the class for safety reasons.
7. Students bring property at their own risk and are responsible for it.
8. All belongings and dance attire should be clearly named. Please avoid bringing valuables. Named dance bags are recommended.
9. Mobile phones must be switched off and are not to be used during class.
10. Students must not leave the studio during class without permission.
11. Students are expected to attend weekly. If injured, they should still attend and observe/participate where possible. If unwell and contagious, please keep them at home.
12. We expect exceptional behavior both at the studio, at competition and at any venue we hire for shows and expect our Chaperones and staff to be always treated with respect.
13. We require all parents to offer to Chaperone at some point during their time at Fusion Arts Academy. All Chaperones are given a free ticket in return to use for the same show on an alternative day and all costs associated with their Chaperone application are covered by Fusion Arts Academy.
Section 4 – Responsibilities
1. Children must not be left unattended before class starts, unless arranged with the teacher.
2. If someone else is collecting your child, please inform the teacher and share their mobile number.
3. If your child is allowed to arrive and leave unaccompanied, this must be stated at registration. If this changes, please update the teacher and Principal.
4. Parents/guardians must keep contact details and student medical information up to date via the parent dashboard.
5. Fusion Arts Academy accept no responsibility for students that leave the site for any reason.
6. Adults and siblings dropping off / collecting must use the public toilet and not the one in our small changing area due to our safeguarding policy. This is strictly for pupils and staff only.
Section 5 – Further Information
1. Timetables may change. We will work hard to avoid this and will provide clear communication, and notice should we be able to.
2. Participation in physical activity carries some risk. Students attend classes and events at FAA at their own risk.
3. Photos and videos may be taken for promotional use and social media. We will only share student names with parent/guardian permission, requested in advance.
4. Additional shared private lessons can be shared by up to a maximum of 4 students. Numbers greater than this will be quoted for separately and by arrangement with the principal. This also applies to Wight Notes choir sectionals.
Due to the nature of dance and music training, teachers may need to use physical contact to help students with technique and posture. Without this, students may not develop correct form.
Fusion Arts Academy, its staff and facilities, cannot be held liable for personal injury, loss, or damage however caused while attending the academy.
Parents are required to leave the premises during classes and return to collect their children at the end of the session due to our safeguarding policy. Parents of children under 5 are required to remain on site—usually in their cars—for insurance purposes.
For questions or further discussion, please contact the principal.
Additional Information
All class fees must be paid for regardless of attendance until official notice has been given (following trial lessons and once you’ve officially signed up to classes).
From time-to-time Fusion Arts Academy may take photos / videos of their pupils to use on social media and for Advertising purposes. Names are only ever published with parents’ permission – for example, if a child has won a competition and they wish to be included in our Wall of Fame (our Facebook and Instagram page). Otherwise, we don't ever publish any names with photographs.
Children are expected to bring a water bottle to all lessons and should only wear correct Fusion Arts Academy uniform for each genre.
Children attending Acrobatics are required to either take Jazz or Ballet class with us in addition to Acro to work on the dance side of the syllabus.
Uniform from other dance / stage schools is not permitted. Pupils on a trial are to wear comfortable plain clothes or dance attire. Hair must be tied back neatly in a bun for all lessons. All pupils must wear our correct uniform and have all their equipment to hand for the classes they are attending. All items of clothing / equipment must be clearly labelled.
All pupils in our Festival Crew must adhere to Wightlink’s Policy with regards to Sponsorship – please let Miss Jo know if you require a new copy of the details.
Parents are asked to contact teachers via the following means:

Miss Jo via phone: 07786 787322 (Fusion Arts Academy Number)
